You can add reference contacts yourself, or let the candidate provide their own references (up to 5). The candidate receives a consent email, then references are contacted automatically.

We offer flexible credit-based pricing. You only pay for each candidate you want to check (up to 5 references per check), each AI video interview invitation, or employee/exit survey recipients (1 credit per 2 recipients). Credits never expire. Talent pool uploads and AI matching are free.

What if a referee doesn't respond?

The Talent Pool is a free, team-wide candidate pipeline. Upload PDF or DOCX resumes; AI extracts skills, work history, education, and references. Filter by skills, location, or certifications, or paste a job description for AI matching. You can start a reference check or video interview from any candidate profile.

Can references complete a check by voice?

Yes. Referees who receive a questionnaire link can choose a voice option powered by an AI conversation (with optional session recording). Written questionnaire responses remain available as the default path.

How do Exit Interviews work?

Exit Interviews are available in the dashboard (not via the public API). Create a survey for a departing employee with job title, manager, and last-day fields. Recipients get a secure email link. Pricing matches employee surveys: 1 credit per 2 recipients (minimum 1). AI analyzes responses and you can export a PDF.

Yes. The REST API at /api/v1 supports reference checks, talent pool, video interviews, employee surveys, jobs, templates, webhooks, and credit purchase. Create a free sandbox key (rc_test_) in Dashboard → Developer settings with no purchase required; live keys (rc_live_) need an active credit purchase. See /docs/api and /openapi.yaml.

Employee Surveys let you gather team feedback through Verify Ref. Create a survey with custom questions, add recipients, and send. Each recipient receives a unique secure link via email. Responses are collected automatically and analyzed by AI for sentiment. You can optionally enable anonymous mode.

Candidates receive an email with a secure link — no account required. They grant camera and microphone access, review the question list, and complete the interview with an AI host. Each question allows up to 60 seconds to answer, with one retake per question.

Is video interview data private?

Yes. Recordings are stored in private team storage and are only accessible to members of your Verify Ref team. Employers must obtain candidate consent before sending an invitation.
